Toothache typically refers to pain in and around the Teeth or Jaws. The severity of pain can be mild or extreme. Toothache symptoms include constant or throbbing pain in tooth, swelling around the tooth, along with fever, headache etc.
Toothache is mainly caused due to dental cavities, dental abscess, cracked tooth, gum disease etc. In rare cases, toothache may not be a result of the above but also due to some problem in the Heart, infection in the Ear or Sinus Infection.
Toothaches can be prevented thru good oral hygiene. Brushing your teeth atleast twice a day, changing your toothbrush once in every 3 months and visiting a dentist twice a year will surely reduce the chances of tooth related problems. In terms of food consumption avoiding sweets and chocolates but eating fruits (Vitamin C) and green vegetables will strengthen the teeth.
